Belgium (Brussels & Brugge)

Belgium City Break - I visited Belgium (Brussels & Brugge) for a long weekend back in March.
What a beautiful country to visit for a short trip. We arrived in Brussels early in the morning and then took the day to explore the city and to drink some lovely mulled wine ;) before departing by train to Brugge which is the most quaint little city I have visited yet - the canals, the streets and the people were just amazing.
There is quite a bit to do and see when in Brugge which is perfect to squeeze into a a long weekend city
break.

We found this gorgeous little bar "Cafe Red Roses" which offers a fine selection of Belgian Trappist Beer - although I am not the fondest of beer myself I did enjoy a lovely glass of white wine, however we did opt to try a selection of the Trappist beers to taste (my bf loved). The cafe itself is about a 10 min walk from Brugge square and decorated with roses everywhere from the ceilings to little decorations on the table - absolutely fabulous - not to mention the customer service was top class!

My favourite part was visiting the art work of the famous Salvador Dali, the museum is situated in Brugge square and really enjoyable to walk around and admire the crazy paintings of Salvador Dali.

If you are the ultimate chocolate fan like I am, then Belgium is the place to be, every single corner there is a cafe or chocolate shop and the smell of melted chocolate on the street seriously lures you in to try some - I probably came back a few pounds heavier haha. We tried the "ultimate" hot chocolate which was basically a soup bowl filled with hot milk, then they bring a selection of white, dark & milk chocolate to add to your milk  and create your own hot chocolate. Glorious!
